THE EAR OF THE FOREIGN BODY
It is a very common problem in children aged 1 to 4 years, but it is also very common in adults as most adults come to the emergency department with a q tip head inside their ears.
The ear of the outer body can be live or non-living.
Inanimate foreign bodies are easily removed from the
emergency department by paramedics. It is also highly recommended that
people should not try to remove them from the home especially for
children because any unusual head movements will result in drumsticking
(parda). Common non-living external bodies include cotton, vegetables,
plastic beads, small batteries etc.
N.B
Batteries are a serious emergency and should be rushed to the hospital immediately, as their acidity may damage the environment.

Living outside
bodies are highly infested with insects, often crawling inside while
people sleep or may enter directly while flying. When they enter the ear
patients are often uncomfortable because of their movements. It is
advisable to apply ointment at home to apply to the ear which usually
kills the insect in a few minutes and can be easily removed from the
hospital once it has been killed, or rushed to the hospital for removal.
In all cases he must be killed first and then released.
I fully hope you have a basic knowledge of the external body ear and can benefit the people around you.
Thank you all for reading.
