- Epsitaxis Commonly Named Nose Outflow.
Epsitaxis commonly referred to as nasal bleeding, is a very common problem in children. There are various causes of epistaxis including traumatic (most common) inflammation and inflammation, there is a long list of other possible causes of epistaxis.
The reason I describe it here is to educate people about the first aid that can be given to a patient with epistaxis.
Initial treatment involves the patient leaning slightly forward and
pressing the nose for at least 5 minutes and during that time if there
is blood flowing to the throat, that should be spit out. there should be
continuous ice packing to be done on the forehead and above the old
nose for vessels to shorten and a little bleeding often stops.
If
the bleeding stops with this hard-working patient it should be
monitored for some time. in case the bleeding continues after the
procedure, the patient should be rushed to the hospital for further
treatment.
There are many options for controlling bleeding in the
hospital which includes packing the nose with nasal packets, or in
cases of minor discharge of the bleeding vessel may be performed.
